The article “$125 million paid to IRS whistleblowers” by James O'Toole discusses how former UBS banker Bradley Birkenfeld got a $104 million reward for exposing the firm's program to help U.S. taxpayers hide their assets, though he also received a 40-month prison term for his alleged part in the scheme. Please discuss any changes to the current whistleblower program you would recommend to prevent participant such as Birkenfeld from profiting from tax evasion schemes.
