KhumpageAssignment 1: Introductory Description of Problem and Thesis
We begin drafting the introduction and thesis statement in this discussion assignment. Sometimes beginning at the beginning, so to speak, is not as easy as it may sound, but you have worked through a series of steps that have led you to this moment, where you should be able to describe the problem you have uncovered and then describe your position (your thesis).
Assignment Guidelines:
By Week 4, Day 3, post your responses to the Discussion Area. We advise that you read all lecture materials and textbook chapters before completing this discussion assignment, as these materials will prepare you to complete it successfully. If you have reviewed all of these materials and still have questions, don’t hesitate to contact your instructor with specific questions prior to submitting the assignment.
Participation Requirements:
By Week 4, Day 6, comment on at least two of your classmates' submissions. Your replies to classmates should be made with an eye to expand, clarify, defend, and/or refine their thoughts. You can ask questions or respond generally to the overall experience. Be honest, clear, and concise, referring to specific words and passages from your classmates’ postings. Always use constructive language, and avoid negative language; work toward a tone and spirit of intellectual curiosity and discovery.
Complete both steps:
Your overall assignment should be developed to at least 200 words. Please do not post the assignment as an attached document, but please do cite any outside references using the APA style guidelines presented in Weeks 1 and 3 APA lectures.
1). Write an introduction to your persuasive essay. You may use techniques such as narrating an experience, using an example, or simply stating the topic and describing the problem. Engage your readers and help them understand the importance of the issue.
2). At the end of your introduction, write your thesis statement.
